Colour concept Gems, 2023

The Schlössli, an outbuilding of the Kantonsschule Hohe Promenade in Zurich, has been given a long-overdue makeover by repainting the interior. Each room has been assigned its own talisman in the form of a gemstone. However, it is not only the colour scheme, but also the special powers attributed to the gems that are intended to have a positive influence on the future spirit in the school building.
The new wall colours soften the contrast with the wood panelling and give the classrooms a fresh touch. Bright colours emphasise the striking elements such as roof supports, windowsills and wall mouldings. Some of these tones come together in the access zone and form a colourful whole.
